Spiritual Foreigners

Foreigners“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning (conforming) yourselves according to the former lusts, in your ignorance: But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation (living): Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:13-16).

“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers (literally foreigners) and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul. Having your conversation (lifestyle), honest among the Gentiles …” (1 Peter 2:11-12).

SpotlightThere are so many lessons found in 1 Peter. This small but powerful book reminds us that THIS WORLD IS NOT OUR HOME (we are foreigners), that we are AMBASSADORS OF ANOTHER KINGDOM, and that the folks who do call this world their home, are WATCHING US. They have the spotlight on our lives.

Whether we like it or not, they are WATCHING US, LISTENING TO US, JUDGING US and JUDGING OUR LORD by OUR ATTITUDES and OUR ACTIONS!

Oh, to be like You Lord! All we want, all we need, Lord, is to be like You in all of our thoughts and all of our ways. Less of us and more of You is our prayer and heart’s desire. Create in our heart’s a hunger and thirst for righteousness and for the Righteous One!

Just reflecting!!!
